I liken it to a shop. You invest a fortune before you open the doors. Now what if you just tell a few friends about your clothing shop located in an industrial area.
Hmm, you may get good trade for a few weeks, then it all depends on your friends recommending the store as there is very little passing by traffic!
The same thing applies to MLM. Most of us work from home. We talk to a few friends and get them on board. If they don't talk to all their friends the whole system breaks down!
You objective should be in the privileged position of having a constant stream of people looking at the information on home business or your products. They come from articles, a blog, social networking, contributions to interest groups, PPC ads, search engine traffic, referrals, follow up emails, etc.
You could add to that talks, flyers and posters, letter box drops, mail outs, local paper ads, shows, etc. The list is endless. Simply offer a free report or CD which gives them more information, or direct them to your web site.
After that if you have their details, give them a follow up call to ask what they thought of the information.
Like it or not, building a business means contacting lots of people, sorting out those interested, and then answering their questions until they can make an informed decision.
It has always been this way in direct sales, and it always will.
When it appears that I have heard no from just about everyone that I know, I have trained myself to know that this means that I am that much closer to attracting my next big time contributor/associate to my organization. This is the Law of Expectation. Weren’t we taught from Day One that this business is much more than about how much money we make and just as much about who we become in the process?
